Our client Alstom, is an international energy infrastructure provider and their quality requirements are second to none. This was a major challenge for Greyton, to deliver our works to a tight programme and very high standard. The substation projects include specialist blast proof and Hydrocarbon Systems which are only utilised when fires have the potential of explosion and creating super heat generated by a petrochemical oil based fuel source. Our main scope was to insulate the junctions at the precast panel walls with a Fendolite 2 system for a 4 hour FRL. There were many others applications including a Miska/Promat slip joint, Fyrestrip joints, mastic sealants and sealing of large penetrations.
With the projects 80% complete, all targets have been met and delivery of the massive transformers to the various bays went smoothly. Our combined contract value of these two sub stations is approximately $750,000.
